Chatbot scenario

~5 min read Section: Scenario

A chatbot scenario is a sequence of events and actions inside your account's chatbot on the AXL platform.

The scenario reacts to the user's manipulations inside the chatbot and performs retaliatory actions.

When creating a scenario, first set the event "Chatbot scenario started". This event will be triggered when the user sends a keyword in the chatbot, or when the user clicks on the link to the chatbot channel. This event will trigger a scenario (a sequence of response actions).

Next, you need to set the response actions: send a message, request data, and so on. Connect events and actions together. This is how you define the sequence of actions in the chatbot scenario.

A chatbot can be of a simple type and a webinar type. Follow our instructions to create a chatbot scenario.

Creating a scenario chatbot (simple type)

Go to the Chat Bots section. Create a new chatbot of the simple type or select an existing one.

Go to the "Scenario" section. Here, by default, the event triggering the chatbot "Chatbot scenario started" is already set. It is automatically created when you create a chatbot.

After that, you need to add the scenario action. Select an action from the list and drag it to the scenario field. Read more about each action in the article “Types of actions in the scenario and their configurations".

For each action, you need to perform settings - configuration. Click on the "Settings" button in the upper right corner of the event, then open the Configure Node.

Next, you need to connect the event and the action. You can create one or more links between events and actions. To remove the link between the scenario elements, double-click on the link.

You can use the function of adding points to connections to create chains. To add a reference point, select the location on the communication line where you want to add the point. Left-click on the place selected on the line and simultaneously press the Ctrl key on the keyboard. Next, you can grab a reference point and move its location to the script field.
To delete a reference point, double-click on the point. Double-clicking on the line will delete the line and all reference points on it.

To massively delete scenario steps, hold down the Shift key and select the desired events and actions by clicking on them with the mouse. Next, press the Delete or Backspace key and confirm the deletion of the selected scenario steps.

You can copy steps and connections between scenarios within one account. Press Shift and select the desired steps by clicking on them with the mouse. The selected scenario steps will be highlighted with a blue border.

Then copy the selected steps by pressing the "Copy" button or Ctrl + C on the keyboard. A message will appear in the upper right corner stating that the scenario steps have been copied.

Open another scenario of your account. Please note that transferring scenario nodes only works within the same account. Press the "Paste" button or Ctrl + V on the keyboard. The scenario steps will be copied to the new scenario.

Add the required number of events and actions to your scenario. Now your scenario is ready. To activate scenario, move the slider to the active position.

In order for the chatbot to be launched, the user needs to send a keyword to the chatbot or simply click on the link to the chatbot channel.

To set up a chatbot keyword, go to the Settings tab.

Click the "Add Phrase" button and add the keyword that launches the chatbot. Click the "Save" button.

Copy the link to the chatbot channel and send it to the user. When the user clicks on the link, the chatbot will be automatically launched and the chatbot scenario will be activated.

Creating a scenario chatbot (webinar type)

Go to the Chatbots section. Create a new chatbot of the webinar type or select an existing one.

Go to the "Scenario" section. There is already a chatbot scenario here by default. It is automatically created when you create a chatbot.

You can use an existing template. Or create your own scenario.

To create a chatbot scenario, select an event from the list and drag it into the scenario field. For scenario chatbot type webinar, there are 4 event options:

  1. Webinar reminder. Configuration settings must be performed for this event. This event is triggered at the time you specified.

  2. Registration for the webinar. This event triggers the webinar script.

  3. Webinar started. This event is triggered at the moment when the webinar has started.

  4. Webinar compieted. This event is triggered after the end of the webinar.

Add an Action to the scenario. Open the Actions section and drag the required action into the scenario field. Read more about actions in the article “Types of actions in the scenario and their configurations".

For each action, you need to perform settings - configuration. Click on the "Settings" button in the upper right corner of the event, then open the node settings.

Next, you need to connect the event and the action. You can create one or more links between events and actions.
To remove the link between the scenario elements, double-click on the link.

Add the required number of events and actions to your scenario. Now your scenario is ready.

To activate scenario, move the slider to the active position.
